Grand Fir

Abies Grandis var. Sandpoint. Idaho native fir. Deep green foliage and a conical growth pattern. Can grow more than a foot per year. Likes well drained soils but other than that is not picky about soil type. Will get very tall (more than 100 feet). and could outlive you, your kids, and your grandkids!

Fraiser Fir

Abies Fraseri var. Roan Mountain. A popular Christmas tree, this is a fun addition to your yard that can be decorated every year. Likes moist, slightly acidic, well drained soils. Grows naturally is a conical Christmas tree shape.

Douglas Fir

Pseudotsuga Menziesii. This tree is not a true fir, it is grouped in the pine family. Its a fast grower (1-2 feet per year). Likes well drained soils and is not drought tolerant. Has dark green needles that are soft and about 1.5 inches long. Produces light brown cones that are3-4 inches long.

Blue Spruce

Picea Pungens var. Majestic Blue. Stunning blue-green foliage and a compact, pyramidal growth patten make this an excellent specimen tree for your yard .Does well in all soil types as long as it is well drained. Slow to medium grower (6-12 inches per year)

Norway Spruce

Picea Abies The fastest growing of the spruces. Can add 13-24 inches per year. Works great as a windbreak. Not picky about soil type and grows in a conical shape. Yields light brown 4 inch cones that sit upright on branches.

Ponderosa Pine

Pinus Ponderosa var. Willamette Valley. The iconic western pine tree. Works great as privacy tree as it grows wide and full . Can be used as a windbreak as they develope a strong tap root. Medium to fast grower they will add more than a foot per year. This variety is more drought tolerant than the average Ponderosa. It is not picky about its soil type.

Lodgepole Pine

Pinus Contorta Murrayana. Similar to Ponderosa but with shorter needles and branches that are less dense giving a semi see through look and a beautiful, tiered tree. Strong roots allow this to be used as a windbreak tree and looks great when paired with Ponderosa in a windbreak. Medium to fast grower, will add more than a foot per year. Not picky about soil type and has good drought tolerance.

Tamarack

American Larch Larix laricina. One of the few deciduous conifers. Soft light green needles in the spring gradually darken over summer before turning golden yellow and dropping off in late fall. Medium to fast grower, will add 1-2 feet per year. Grows tall and slender and is a strong rooted tree.Makes a great specimen tree in your yard. Is not picky about soil type but does like water especially when it's hot.

Green Giant Arborvite

Thuja standishii x plicata. The green giant arborvite is a large fast growing evergreen that can grow as much as 3 feet per year. Grows naturally in a conical shape with dense green foliage that bronzes slightly in winter. This is a great tree for a windbreak or privacy screen. Not picky about soil types as long as it is well drained. Can withstand heavy snow.

Techny Arborvitae

Thuja occidentalis-Techny.Techny is a broad, compact pyramidal arborvitae with dark green foliage. It is drought tolerant and very cold hardy. Excellent as a privacy screen with a maximum height of 15 feet. It is low maintenance and adapts well to most soils. Will grow 1-2 feet per year.

Blue Fescue

Festuca glauca 'Elijah Blue' Stunning icy blue bunch grass. Likes full sun. Drought tolerant once established.

Carnations

Dianthus caryophyllus. Various colors (red, pink,white). Will bloom all summer if dead blooms are trimmed. Likes full sun . Will come back year after year if trimmed to 1 or 2 inches of the ground late fall just before freezing. Likes full sun and well drained soil.

Red Maple

Acer Rebrum. Adds Color to your yard year- round. Green stems turn red in the winter. Spring brings clusters of small red flowers followed by leaves that turn from red to green as they mature. Very showy deep red color for fall. Will grow 1-2 feet per year. Will grow in any soil type but prefers moist soil. Has some drought tolerance once established.

Red Oak

Quercus Rebra. Excellent shade tree due to its wide spreading crown. Deep green lobed leaves turn russet red in the fall. Produces 1.5 inch acorns. Tolerates any soil will even grow in compacted soils. Prefers moist soil. Has some drought tolerance once established. Will grow 2 feet per year for the first ten years.

Quaking Apsen

Populus tremuloiudes. Provides stunning yellow fall color. It is a fast growing tree that will add 2-3 feet per year. It's roots will sprout new trees once established allowing it to spread.Will grow in any soil but prefers abundant moisture. The bark is creamy white color..

Paper Birch

Betula papyrifera. This tree is known for its smooth white bark and bright yellow color in the fall. Grows naturally in an oval shape. It is a medium to fast grower and will add 1-2 feet per year. Will grow in any soils and has some drought tolerance once established. Look great planted in groups or clumps of three or more.

Eastern Redbud

Cercis canadensis. A beautiful tree! Makes a bold landscape statement with its irregular branches and graceful crown. Starts spring with an explosion of rosy pink flowers. Its leaves are heart shaped and start out red before turning green and in fall turn yellow before dropping off .Will grow 1-2 feet per year. Is not picky about soil type.
